Booking an Appointment
Important Changes to our Appointment System Due to Coronavirus
Please note important changes to our Appointments due to Coronavirus:
- All patients will be triaged by a clinician over the phone first at first instance – Please be reminded all calls are recorded for training, quality and monitoring purposes
- Face to face appointment booking via our online systems has also been suspended
- Face to Face appointments are bookable via telephone and online consultation submission (clinical discretion will be exercised).
- Appointments can be requested via telephone and Accurx Patient Triage – Our online consultation tool (Click here to be re-directed to Accurx Patient Triage)
Non-urgent advice: Suspension Notice
Due to the pandemic and in an attempt to mitigate potential infection control outbreaks, we have had to suspend appointments being booked via Patient Access.
For appointments with a GP, please click here and complete an Online Consultation.
Patients are requested, where possible, to telephone before 11am if a home visit is required that day.
We would request that, apart from the genuinely housebound, all other patients attend the surgery rather than request a home visit because of the extra time home visiting takes. On average four to five patients can be seen in surgery in the time it takes to do a single house call. In addition, the care that can be offered due to the lack of adequate lighting, examination facilities and equipment means that you may not receive as good a service as the doctor may be able to offer if you came to the surgery.
Please note that the doctor may telephone you rather than visit you if this is medically appropriate. Ultimately it is the doctors right to decide whether or not a visit is appropriate for a particular set of circumstances.
Running Late or Unable to Attend?
In order to ensure the smooth running of the surgery, please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make your appointment so that your appointment can be offered to another patient.
If you think you are going to be late, please try to inform the surgery. People late for their appointment may only be seen at the discretion of the clinician and may be asked to re-book.
In turn, our clinicians will endeavour to run on time. If a doctor is running late, please understand that emergencies can crop up and may need to be dealt with. Remember a ten minute appointment means a doctor can only deal with one of your problems properly.
Text Reminder Service
We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
